Our Special Guests:

Rose-Marie Patrick- Data Scientist, Chief Data Office at Royal Bank of Canada

Rose is a Data Scientist in the Chief Data Office at Royal Bank of Canada. In her role, she specializes in leveraging large data sets and leading-edge technologies to discover business improvements and new growth opportunities for RBC.

Prior to a career transition into the world of data, she spent over 14 years as an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, spanning multiple industries such as energy, petrochemical, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals.

She completed a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago.

Obiamaka Agbaneje- Machine Learning Engineer at Sterling Capital Brokers 

Obiamaka Agbaneje is a Machine Learning Engineer at Sterling Capital Brokers with over a decade of experience in the IT industry and 5 years of experience in Data Science/Machine Learning Engineering working in the Telco, Travel and Financial Services industries.  She is a specialist in data pipeline architecture, warehousing and modeling. She has expertise in designing, building and deploying data pipelines using various big data technologies. Obiamaka is also well-versed in utilizing AWS cloud services, and Databricks for data storage and processing. Additionally, Obiamaka is an active Python and data engineering community member and regularly shares her knowledge through speaking engagements and contributing to open-source projects. Obiamaka is excited to be speaking at this conference about her experience working as a data professional.

Yinka Adegbusi- Market Insights Manager at KPMG 

Yinka Adegbusi is a data analytics professional with a deep passion for data and its impact on business decisions. She has in-depth knowledge and experience in analytics subject matter, including data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence and insights reporting.

She has held various analytics roles, including program manager at Microsoft, Data scientist at the Ontario Ministry of Education, as well as in various industries including telecommunications, commercial insurance and consumer goods, where she utilized her data analytics background to analyze business data, construct machine learning models and present actionable insights that empowered organizations in making data-driven decisions.

Yinka developed her passion for data during her studies in physics and mathematics at Queen’s University. She currently works at KPMG Canada as a Market Insights Manager, where she leverages data analytics to provide insights that enable business leaders to make data-driven business decisions.

She is a foodie with a passion for photography and digital design. She is also the founder and creative director of Quant By Design, a boutique web design studio. Her passion for advocacy in inclusion and diversity, particularly in the Black community, led to her co-founding Queen's Black Alumni Chapter. She is also on the executive committee of KPMG Black Professional Network (BPN) and an active member of KPMG Women in Technology Network (WiT).

Siphu Langeni- Data Scientist at Shopify 

Siphu Langeni is a Data Scientist at Shopify on the Capital Algorithms team. She is dedicated to empowering millions of entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes on the global commerce platform by building and scaling algorithm-based products.

Prior to making a career transition into Data Science, Siphu obtained a Master of Science in Anesthesia from the University of Michigan - Flint and Hurley Medical Center. As an advanced practice nurse, she was dedicated to clinical excellence and leadership in Critical Care, Trauma, Anesthesia and Surgery.

When Siphu is not “doing data”, she enjoys mentoring people from a variety of professional backgrounds aspiring to make the jump into data.
